Prayer for Pride

Pride blinds, isolates, and resists God — but humility opens the door to grace, growth, and true freedom.

Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a sincere heart. I confess that pride has crept into my thoughts, my words, and my actions. I’ve trusted in my own strength, sought recognition, and tried to control things You never asked me to carry.

Forgive me, Lord, for every time I’ve elevated myself and diminished Your place in my life. I don’t want to live for approval, attention, or self-glory. I want to walk humbly with You.

Break down every wall of pride in me. Uproot the lies that say I must have it all together or that I’m better than someone else. Help me to see myself clearly — not more than I am, not less than I am — but as someone completely dependent on Your grace.

Let the mind of Christ be in me — the One who humbled Himself even unto death. Teach me to serve rather than be served. To repent quickly. To give You credit for every good thing in my life.

I renounce the spirit of pride and self-exaltation. I submit to Your will, and I receive the joy and peace that come with surrender.
